05 THE BLUEST EYE

and Rachel SilverbergThis book jacket design for Toni Morrison’s classic novel “The Bluest Eye” uses one continuous image that wraps the entire book, encasing the title in blocks of ice. This is meant to evoke the frozen state in which Pecola finds herself at the end of the novel. Stuck in her delusion and bound by her trauma, she is forever frozen in time. This is a complete dust jacket with inner flaps. Pictured below are some process experiments.
