Using text from This American Life’s podcast episode “807: Eight Fights,” this book looks at the relationships and conflicts between a family living between Russia and Ukraine at the start Russia’s full scale invasion in 2022. Text used also include Vladimir Putin’s war declaration speech and three social media speeches delivered by Volodymyr Zelenksyy, President of Ukraine. The book is sewn with a coptic binding and laser cut covers made with fluorescent cast acrylic. November 20th, 2024, marked one thousand days since Russia launched its full scale invasion of Ukraine.

A study in sequence, this book combines images of land artist Nancy Holt’s oeuvre with the poetry of Mary Oliver. The book and its accompanying magnifier are contained within a black hinged bookbox. Oliver’s poetry is displayed in three different type sizes, one of which requires the reader’s use of the magnifier to become legible.

This book focuses on my memories of playing dress up as a kid, with my siblings. The main text is Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s “The Little Prince.” The book includes a paper doll with four costumes, four costume posters, and stories from each of my family members.

This book jacket design for Toni Morrison’s classic novel “The Bluest Eye” uses one continuous image that wraps the entire book, encasing the title in blocks of ice. This is meant to evoke the frozen state in which Pecola finds herself at the end of the novel. Stuck in her delusion and bound by her trauma, she is forever frozen in time...

Teatro di Rifredi is a small, blackbox theater on the outskirts of Florence, Italy’s city center. The theater itself is fairly small, with a blackbox stage, red velvet seats and a large courtyard out front. The theater became known for its experimental productions and children’s productions. In this project, I propose a new brand and identity system for the theater.

Inspired by the cut and paste photocopied posters of yore, this informational poster is meant to accompany an exhibit of 1990s zines. The poster chronicles the Riot Grrrl movement of the 1990s Pacific Northwest, and the DIY graphic design aesthetic of the zines and posters it produced. These zines and posters explored social issues of gender and race, and the poster compiles a brief history of the movement, as well as its impacts on design.

A. Philip’s book Pythagoras and Early Pythagorean-ism.The book is hand constructed and bound using a coptic stitch. It includes original illustrations.
