08 THE ETERNAL FLUX

This book combines two texts, and intertwines the two to emphasize their impacts on one another. The first text is an excerpt from Ovid’s Metamorphoses, of Pythagoras’s teachings on the “eternal flux,” and the constantly changing world. The second text is Chapter 8: The Harmony of the Spheres, from J. A. Philip’s book Pythagoras and Early Pythagoreanism, which discusses Pythagoras’s theory that the rotation of the seven planets he knew of was correlated to the seven notes of the musical scale. The book is hand constructed and bound using a coptic stitch, and includes original illustrations.
